MPA Notes

  • Jazz & Percussion members should wear Black Concert Uniform for our events on Friday. Please be dressed and ready to go at 9:30 AM.
  • We will load the truck at 9:30 AM.
  • S&E Solo and small ensemble participants, please use the following guidelines to help prepare for a great performance experience:
    • Dress for success. Ensure you are well groomed and presentable. You do not have to wear your concert uniform, however, it would be appropriate if you do not have other dress attire.
    • When you enter the performance room, greet the adjudicator (if they are still writing a sheet from the previous person, WAIT until you are recognized) and ask him/her if you can play a few notes to hear the room. It is customary to take a tuning note from your accompanist if you have one.
    • Thank your accompanist. If your event utilizes an accompanist, it is always good form to publicly thank them at the conclusion of your performance.
    • Ratings can take up to an hour after your performance to be posted. Please exercise patience as there will be over 1500 performances on site this weekend. Look for Mr. L if you have waited longer than an hour.
