All members of the Blue Darter Bands are required to attend band camp. If you are participating with us for the 22-23 school year, your attendance is expected over the next two weeks. Our newest mandate for the 22-23 year is our ECG and Physical Mandate. If you have been “cleared” via the FHSAA website, you are ready, no need to do anything else. We will see you either Monday or Tuesday – whichever is your start date based on your performance area. If you are in the process… ie: starting, in process, or have been denied, you are expected to attend as an observer for the outdoor portion and will participate with all indoor music activities in the afternoon. When cleared, you will join in. You are expected to continue the Physical and ECG process for completion while camp is taking place. Summary: All students participating in the 22-23 Blue Darter Band are expected to be in attendance regardless of your ECG/Physical Status. #iegyb

Camp Details

  • You should wear appropriate clothing (shorts, tshirts, tennis shoes (not crocs, flip flops, etc.) for marching portion (morning) of rehearsal. You are free to change attire, etc. when we come inside. This includes shoes.
  • Sunscreen, big floppy hats, sunglasses, etc. are essential to your outdoor success.
  • Be sure to have a working instrument and your sheet music/binder – every day!
    • You will be assigned a locked on Day 1! You will have a place to store your stuff!
  • Food… we do provide food for lunch – however – you are more than welcomed to bring your own if you choose to do so. You will need to store it in your locker until lunch time. We do not have refrigerators or microwaves available for student use.
    • Participating students will remain on campus at all times during camp. You will not be allowed to leave to “get lunch” during camp. Make plans accordingly. If you depart, you are no longer a participating student, and, no longer with us at camp. Figure it out. #iegyb

Sample Daily Itinerary (7.19 – 21/7.25-28)

Each day beginning with Tuesday starts in the Auditorium for Morning Meeting.

Looking Ahead: 

  • Band Camp Week 2: July 25th – July 29th (29th is Half Day)
  • Premier Show: Friday, July 29th (Evening)
  • August 2nd: BDMB Rehearsal 6 PM – 8:30 PM
  • August 4th: Darter Opening – Meet The Teacher
    • BDMB will hold a pep rally on this date – time TBA.
  • August 5th: Leadership Training Day w/ Mr. Wansley
  • August 9th: BDMB Rehearsal 6 PM – 8:30 PM
  • August 10th: First Day Of School!


You should be connected to two programs of communication as we move into the new year:

These will serve as our primary sources of communication in the coming year. The Band App is a simple “Closed-Loop” social media style app that only holds the members of our progrand and allows for quick updates, messaging, video posts, etc. Cut Time is our all-inclusive program info software that tracks financial info, student contact info, texting, emailing, and more.
