Band Banquet Tickets

TICKET SALES ARE COMPLETE ON THURSDAY, MAY 19th at 2:30 PM. Our number will be called in at that time. SENIORS – You MUST turn in an envelope to ensure you have a ticket reserved for the event. If you do not TURN IN an envelope YOU WILL NOT have a ticket for the event. This must be done by THURSDAY. $16 each for all other members and guests.

Awards Voting

This week in our classes we will vote on our program awards for the year. Ballots must be completed IN-CLASS as there will be no absentee voting.

  • Guard Recital: Monday, May 16! Come and join our Color Guard for a great evening of performances from the entire 15-16 unit! The event begins at 7:30 PM and will be held in our Auditorium!
  • Jazz Under The Stars: Thursday, May 19th! Come and join us for a great evening of Jazz featuring both our After-School Jazz Ensemble and our 7th Period Jazz Ensemble in the courtyard! BRING YOUR LAWN CHAIR AND GET READY TO HAVE A RELAXING EVENING! Downbeat is somewhere around 7:30 PM!

  • Student leadership projects will be due on WEDNESDAY, May 18th by midnight. 
  • MONDAY, MAY 16th will be a TEACHING PRACTICE SESSION from 2:20 PM – 3:00 PM. 
  • TUESDAY, MAY 17th will be a CONDUCTING PRACTICE SESSION from 2:20 PM – 3:00 PM. 
  • These sessions will be used to help the individuals who wish to get advice and assistance in prepping their videos for the project. There will be “hands on” time for EACH student who wishes to have assistance. 
  • ALL CANDIDATES: Please come by and see Mr. Langford on Thursday OR Friday of this week for any follow up questions that you may have regarding the application/project process.

Passion Wrap Up!

THANK YOU to all of the incredible things that went in to making our first Prism concert a memorable experience and one to build upon in the coming years. There were many musical moments and exciting events that took place throughout the two night run of performances. I am VERY PROUD of our membership and the display of leadership that took place from many of our members!

Remember, passion is part of our lives. Do not be afraid to show it and always pay forward the energy that you bring along with your passion in all you do!

Thank you to all of our participants for the annual Martin Luther King parade! You made a difference with your performance!

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to our Varsity and JV Winterguard on a FANTASTIC Premiere Weekend. Our JV Winterguard came in 1st place in their round for the Scholastic B and our Varsity came in 2nd for the Scholastic A category. We are so proud of you and the hard work you put in each and every week!

SmartMusic has begun! The first assignment has been given to both 1st and 5th period classes and is due on Monday, January 25th by 11:59 PM. 2nd and 3rd period band classes will receive their microphones this week to begin working with the SmartMusic program.

Looking Ahead

Jazz MPA/Solo & Ensemble MPA is Thursday, February 11th – Saturday, February 13th 

Solo and Ensemble is right around the corner! Musical preparations should be well under way and nearing completion as you get ready for the upcoming performance weekend. AHS will serve as the site host for S&E and we will have a member work schedule set up to begin signing up for work times later this week so you can plan ahead. All members will be required to work ONE shift to assist in this endeavor of serving our District schools.

Band Camp 2015 is coming soon!

Below you will find several resources over the coming days that will help you prepare for camp. Keep checking back this week to ensure you have everything you need and are prepared for our Kick-Off meeting on August 2nd!

Camp Schedule 

  • August 2nd, Sunday: Kick Off Meeting – 2 PM (Turn in forms, fees, uniform sizing, etc.)
  • Week 1
    • August 3rd – August 6th, Monday – Thursday: Band Camp! 8 AM – 4 PM
    • August 7th, Friday: Band Camp! 8 AM – 12 PM (Half-Day)
    • August 8th, Saturday: BDMB Party at Wekiwa State Park! 9 AM
      • Details & Section Food Sign Ups Coming During Camp
  • Week 2
    • August 10th – August 13th, Monday – Thursday: Band Camp! 8 AM – 4 PM
    • August 14th, Friday: 8 AM – 12 PM (Half-Day)
    • PREVIEW SHOW: Friday, August 14th 6 PM

Camp Info (Handy flyer will be uploaded on Monday!)

  • Lunch will be provided each day. You may bring your own lunch if you desire, however, we will eat as a group. No one will be allowed to leave campus.
  • BREAKFAST is a new addition to our menu! Free breakfast will be provided each morning. Please arrive by 7:15 AM to eat!
  • Attire: T-Shirt, Shorts, Tennis Shoes (Not flip-flops), Hat/Cap, Sunscreen
  • Make sure you have your instrument, reeds, valve oil, sticks, mallets, etc. and are ready for a great time!


  • The following forms can be filled in and printed to turn in at our Kick-Off meeting on Sunday, August 2nd. For those who are unable to download and print, there will be blank forms available to fill out at the meeting.


  • Items on the MEDIA page will be updated this week to include new stands charts and show music.
    • This is password protected. Please contact a student leader or Director if you do not have the password.
